The Plague Raves (2024)
‘The Plague Raves' by Bloxham Tapes co-founder LUKE DROZD is a 38-minute experimental work that attempts to capture the increasingly boggy feeling of navigating through "unprecedented times". A confusing and dreamy mix explored through a similarly skewed audio journey.
"The composition threads together electro-acoustic textures, mangled field recordings, disembodied found vocals and amateur musical recordings in a complex and winding sound collage. Echoes of the past in conversation with noises of today. The piece weaves its way through investigations into superstition, ritual, folklore, unofficial histories and the struggles of navigating a world emerging from a global pandemic." – LD
This work was originally exhibited as part of an exhibition of the same name at Bergen Kjøtt, Bergen, NO.
