Subject to Aligment was created for the group exhibition ΠΩΛΗΘΗΚΕ (SOLD) in Methonis 57-59 (Exarcheia, Athens), curated by Konstantinos Mouchtaridis. The exhibition addressed the recent rapid gentrification of Exarcheia and its impact on the neighborhood.

The shirt features the text ”The Street” from the book Species of Spaces and Other Pieces (1974) by Georges Perec. The text explores, among other things, how individuals relate to their constantly changing surroundings. The typography is adapted to the stripes of the shirt, and only selected parts of the text are visible to the reader. In this way, the text is not reproduced in its original form, but as a text collage, adjusted and tailored to the shirt’s form and design.

Our practice centers around the exploration of printed matter, tactility, and using language as a material in bookmaking. Through self-publishing, we explore how form, content, and process come together in creative expression.
